When designing my logo, I wanted to send out the message that Karma Kidz caters to all races
that is why I feature the different nationalities of babies as part of my logo. Karma Kidz does not
discriminate. It’s all about Karma. It’s Karma Baby!
BSL What has been your biggest challenge since becoming an entrepreneur?
BASMATIE I would have to say as with any business, getting the word out about your products or
services is one of the most difficult task for me. It is not a goal that can be accomplished
overnight. It is an everyday, ongoing, never-ending process, but once your product/service is
recognized the rewards are endless.
BSL Where can you see Karma Kidz in five years?
BASMATIE Wow! I see endless visions for Karma Kidz. I am overwhelmed in a good way, just
thinking about it. Karma Kidz is growing everyday. Our Karma Kidz Bath & Body Line is actually
launching this month. I see big things for Karma Kidz. We are full of surprises. A magician cannot
reveal her secrets. laughs
BSL What advice do you offer for an individual who want to be his/her own boss?
BASMATIE My advice to anyone who wants to start a business is to put your thoughts into action
and follow it through. Make your visions a reality. Stop talking about it, make it happen. Diminish
your fears and have faith. I also believe in not sharing your visions with everyone because not
everyone is in your best interest, and not everyone will be happy for you, sad to say. Surround
yourself with positive energy and people who can uplift you, help you grow, and you will succeed.
Do something that you are passionate about and the money will follow, not the other way around.
You have to truly love what you do or else it will not work. I cannot stress this enough, you cannot
get involved in something that is making money and you are not passionate about it. Just
because others are involved in it and making money, does not mean you will. YOU have to find
YOUR niche, YOUR blessing, YOUR calling.
Keep pushing and believing in yourself and you will succeed. Don’t give up! Don't let others
discourage you or turn you the other direction from your visions.

BSL How did you come up with the name Karma Kidz?
BASMATIE I came up with the name “Karma Kidz”
because I am a firm believer of "Karma", and being that my
clothing line is catered to kids, I thought it would be cool to
incorporate the two.

How does your clothing line stand out from the rest?

For example, our “Karma Kommandments Onesies” sends
out a different positive message on each onesie. Karma
Kidz is meant for every nationality.
