(May 6) Not everyone is blessed with the It factor. You know, the it factor. It is the little
something that is embedded in someone unbeknownst to the fact that it is there but widely
visible to everyone else. Charismatic as he is talented and still relatively new to the
Industry, Dennis White is already being revered as the one of the few up and coming with
the “It” factor.
Hailing from Fayetteville but has since relocated to the Big Apple, White frequently returns
to his Carolina roots to visit the people who supported and stood by him the most: his
parents.
His decision to move to New York was a very lucrative one. Shortly after arriving, White
got his first paying gig on FuseTV, making him the first African American host in the
history of the network. This led to many other opportunities for this multi-faceted
entertainer including more hosting jobs, releasing a hip hop album under the stage name,
Dennis Da Menace and being featured alongside some of the biggest stars in Hollywood.
Perhaps, one of his most prized roles to date would be his portrayal of the legendary
West Coast rapper, the late Tupac Shakur.
Currently, White is working on one of the most anticipated films of 2009, Notorious, the
life and death of Christopher Wallace, better known as the Notorious B.I.G. He will be
gracing the screen as he reprises the role of Damion “D-Roc” Butler.
TheBlackSpotlight.com caught up with the Fayetteville State grad Dennis White to talk
about his role in Notorious, NC girls versus NY girls and which young starlet he wished
would have taken his last name.
