BSL: Cool. Keep me posted. What other projects do you have coming up?
WHITE: I’m doing a short independent film called, Three Chris’s. It’s a crazy project. I star
as a guy named Chris Walker who moves into an apartment with Christ and Santa Claus.
You know, Chris and Chris Cringle. It’s a wild project but it’s hot. It’s funny. It’s a comedy. I
think that you’ll love that a lot. I have some other projects I’m working on. I can’t really speak
upon right now. I have a show coming up called Straight Comedy, produced by Lionsgate.
That should be coming up soon. It’s kinda of like Punk’d and a Dave Chappelle-type show.
BSL: Ok. Well, you know I was gonna ask you. Are you single?
WHITE: Am I single?
BSL: Mm-hmm
WHITE: Yes I am. Ever since, Jay-Z and Beyonce made it down the aisle, I’ve been single. I
was supposed to marry Beyonce but Jay-Z had that $150 million and it took him over the
edge and she’s picked him. It’s all good. I’m gonna recuperate. (laughs) I’m single for the
right person.
BSL: So, what do you look for?
WHITE: Someone with nice teeth. A nice bank account. You know, what…(laughs) I’m just
playing. Someone who understands me. Someone who can be there and can handle me
hanging out in the hood with my peoples, going to red carpet events or going to Diddy’s
house. A woman that can do it all.
BSL: I know you are surrounded by women in New York...
WHITE laughs
BSL: But, how are the girls in NY different from the ones here in North Carolina?
WHITE: I love the girls in North Carolina because they’re thick delicious down there! Whoo!
Lord have mercy. The girls in North Carolina have a different sensibility that is really
comforting…
BSL: That’s Southern comfort!
WHITE: True and I’m lovin it. New York girls have an edge to them. They have a shell that
you have to try and break through. North Carolina girls that I have experienced, if they like
you, they do, if they don’t, they don’t. They have a sweeter atmosphere. And they’re thick
delicious.
BSL: So true!
WHITE: I went to the CIAA tournament and I was like Wow! Hollywood girls are something
else.
BSL: Plus North Carolina women are natural.
WHITE: That’s right. No implants or nothing.
BSL: Right. So, where do you see yourself in 5 yrs?
WHITE: Producing my own films. A wider volume of work but definitely in the producing
aspect of it. And married!
BSL: Okay. It can happen. What advice do you offer for others wanting to pursue a career in
the entertainment field?
WHITE: It’s not where you from, it’s where you’re at. Just because you live in North Carolina,
it doesn’t mean you can’t fulfill your dreams. Go get it. There are a lot of good things going
on in North Carolina. As far as music, 9th Wonder is doing his thing. As far as film, there is a
lot of film production going on in Wilmington. There are definitely avenues and opportunities,
you just have to want it.
