ANGELA BASSETT
RECEIVES STAR ON THE
HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME

After nearly 25 years in the business, she is finally
awarded
(March 21) Best known for her dead on portrayal of the legendary Tina Turner in the 1993
What's Love Got to Do With It and the film that made women want to burn all of their man's
belongings in
Waiting to Exhale, actress Angela Bassett received her star on the Hollywood
Walk of Fame.

Last Thursday, the 49-year old performer became the 2358th celebrity to receive such an
honor. In the presence of her husband, actor Courtney Vance and her friends actors
Laurence Fishburne, Rick Fox and Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker, she thanked
everyone for the recognition and stated:

Who would have thought that a little girl in pigtails from St. Petersburg, Florida, would grow
up to find herself gazing at a star with her name on it, on the Hollywood Walk of Fame?
This day is so, so special to me.

Throughout the course of her career, the Yale graduate has appeared in over 40 films
including
Boyz N the Hood; The Jackson: An American Dream; Malcolm X;Vampire in
Brooklyn
; How Stella Got Her Groove Back and The Rosa Parks Story.

Currently, Bassett can be seen in the dramedy,
Meet the Browns with Tyler Perry, Rick Fox
and Jenifer Lewis.

Her star can be seen at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard.
