BET PARTNERS
WITH MICROSOFT
Cable network attempts to
regain audience

(April 16) Black Entertainment Television (BET) has been the butt of many jokes lately. From
the banned episode of the animated hit, the Boondocks to the bloggers complaining of the
lower grade of quality programming, BET recently partnered with software giant, Microsoft to
regain their audience.
Through their joint venture, BET will be utilizing the popular video console, the XBOX 360 to
make episodes from their popular series available for view through the XBOX Live
Marketplace.
Currently, the XBOX Live Marketplace is the only gaming system that offers downloadable
television show and movies in high-definition.
XBOX Live will include but not limited to the following BET programming: American Gangster,
College Hill 4, ComicView, Hell Date, Iron Ring, etc.
Since XBOX gamers and BET share nearly the same demographics which is the 18-34 crowd,
the network believes this will be one of the most sound methods to increase their dwindling fan
base.
