(April 5) It's official: Beyonce Knowles and Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter have tied the knot. After
months of speculation that the duo were already husband and wife, they proved the world
wrong when they applied for a marriage license on April 1st and exchanged vows
yesterday in New York City.
The wedding for the couple of six years was very private, only inviting close family and
celebrity friends who were rumored to include Serena and Venus Williams, former
Destiny's Child divas Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams and rocker/actress couple
Chris Martin and Gwenyth Paltrow. The invitation itself excluded the location and guests
were informed to wear ivory. The reception took place at Jay-Z Tribeca complex
apartment.
In a recent trip to Paris, France, the couple got matching IV tattoos. The theory behind
them is that Beyonce's birthday is on Sept. 4, Jay-Z's birthday is on Dec. 4th and they got
married on April 4th. Here I am thinking it stood for "4ever."
And how does the former bachelor celebrate his first full day as a married man? Well,
he's performing in Greensboro, NC alongside Mary J. Blige for the Heart of the City tour.
