New film reveals the untold story of
the Northeast Blackout of 2003
(FEBRUARY 5) Zoe Saldana, Sean Blakemore, Melvin van Peebles, Jeffrey Wright and
LaTanya Richardson- Jackson star in the inspired by true events film, Blackout.
Released through BET Entertainment/ Paramount Films, the plot revolves around the
Northeast Blackout of August 2003. Although widely reported as being peaceful, chaos
erupted in Brooklyn's East Flatbush neighborhood.
BET aired the movie Feb. 1 and is now available on DVD today.
Zoe Saldana will appear beside Forest Whitaker in Vantage Point in theaters February 22.
