MOVIES?
Did Tyler Perry deliver another
blockbuster hit?
(March 23) For the second week in a row, the kid-friendly film, Horton Hears A Who held unto
its number one spot in the Box Office, bringing in $25.1M for a combined total of $86.5M.
Tyler Perry's stageplay turned film release, Meet the Browns also laughed its way to the bank.
With the recently Hollywood Walk of Fame star recipient Angela Bassett leading the all-star
cast, the hilarious movie scored $20M in its opening weekend.
Also debuting in theaters this weekend was Shutter, which came in third with $10.7M. Actor
Owen Wilson's recent crash with drugs may have caused this weekend's flop, Drillbit Taylor,
bringing in $10.2M and securing the number four slot.
Epic film, 10,000 B.C. is still hanging in there rounding out the top five with $8.66M this
weekend and $76.1M total.
Action-packed fight flick, Never Back Down dropped a few notches to number six with $4.86M
for a grand total of $16.8M.
Together, reformed bad boy and Disney golden child, Martin Lawrence and Raven Symone
still remain in the top ten at number seven with College Road Trip with $4.63M over the
holiday weekend and $32M in total. The Bank Job starring new action hero Jason Statham
holds the number eight spot with $4.1M, $19.4M total.
Number nine belongs to Vantage Point, the political thriller starring Academy Award winner
Forest Whitaker brought in $3.8 and $65.3M total since its February debut.
Unknown foreign film, Onaji tsuki rwo miteiru completed the top ten list with $2.6M this
weekend for a total of $3.33M
