DAVID BANNER,
BONE CRUSHER
AND FITNESS DVDS
Are they dropping bling for barbells?
(April 29) Urban music has been one of the biggest influences the world has ever known.
From the style of our clothes to the way we speak, these high-powered corporations have
been looking to us for inspiration.
For the last two decades, some rap music has glorified guns, violence, bling, rims, grillz, and
booty-blessed women in the thinnest threads imaginable. In later years with artists like
Common and Kanye West, the perception of the rap artist has changed but is it getting ready
to take on a new look.
According to Billboard.com, rapper David Banner is set to release a fitness DVD. The
Mississippi reppin artist who has completed his fifth album, The Greatest Story Ever Told
and his role in Days of Wrath has shed over 50 pounds through healthy eating and an
exercise regimen wants others to follow in his lead.
He stated the following:
Young black and Latinos now are dying from heart attacks at 28 and 30 years old,Hopefully
through my transformation I can get to people in the hood and encourage them. I honestly
think I put 20 years on my life -- I really do. I want more people to be able to do that.
Already raking in dollars from this latest venture, rap artist Bone Crusher has already
released a fitness DVD on the market. The DVD entitled Battle of the Bulge features the
Neva Scared artist 50lbs lighter because of his recent appearance on VH1's Celebrity Fit
Club. Instead of those wanting to get into shape watching size zero individuals barely
perspire, Bone incorporated plus-size people into the video.
Much like other exercise tapes, Battle of the Bulge includes the warm-up, cardio and the cool
down but he also includes a section for people who are excessively obese who are unable to
move around but can work out in a sitting or lying position.
Bone Crusher is vigorously workly on his next album through his record label, Vainglorious
Records and leading in his rock group.
