(May 29) Actor/comedian Eddie Murphy may be best known nowadays for his kid-friendly
role in Shrek as the lovable "Donkey" or for his Oscar-nominated role in Dreamgirls as
the charismatic playboy Jimmy Early but in the 80s, he was Detective Axel Foley.
There has been buzz on the Net that Murphy would be returning for a fourth installment of
Beverly Hills Cop but nothing was confirmed until now. He will be working with director
Brett Ratner (Money Talks, Rush Hour series) next year for an expected 2010 release
through Paramount Pictures. Currently, they are working together on the remake of The
Incredible Shrinking Man set for release in 2009.
The first Beverly Hills Cop was released in 1984 and grossed nearly $316M worldwide.
