HURRICANE SEASON
IS HERE

Are you ready if a storm heads your way?
(June 2) The country is barely 24 hours into hurricane season and the first storm Arthur
has already begun brewing. If a storm comes your way, would you be prepared?

Here's a recommended checklist for items needed and ways to be ahead of the game:

Watch the news and watch weather signs
Contact a family member/friend out of state
Charge all cell phones, computers and other electronic items
Pick up any yard items that can cause harm if caught in hurricane winds (i.e. tools,
furniture, loose tools, etc.)
Secure all doors and windows
Move cars, bicycles and cooking grill into garage
Keep a full tank of gas at all times
During a storm, stay away from doors and windows
Unplug all electrical devices
Own a corded telephone to make calls if power goes out
NOTE: Digital phone services do not work if the electricity is out. Stick with traditional
              phone service.
