Recording artist Lupe Fiasco (Atlantic Records)
(May 3) Hip hop fans have spoken when it comes to Lupe Fiasco. It was announced recently
that the Atlantic recording artist's sophomore album, The Cool struck Gold by the RIAA. The
album hit stores last December and peaked on the Billboard Top Rap Albums at #1 for nine
weeks.
His first single from The Cool, Superstar featured Matthew Santos and received crossover
appeal.
Lupe Fiasco became a known entity in the music industry after being featured in Kanye
West's Touch the Sky. Shortly after his appearance, he released his debut album, Lupe
Fiasco's Food & Liquor with lead single, the skateboarder's anthem, Kick Push.
He received his first career Grammy for Daydreamin, which featured neosoul star Jill Scott.
Lupe Fiasco is currently on tour with Kanye West and Rihanna on the Glow in the Dark tour
and will be in North Carolina May 8th and 9th.
