(May 21) Last July, a panel of Hip Hop enthusiasts compiled a list of lyricists who
stand out amongst the bubble gum rap today because of their swagger, verses,
flow and their overall success. Now they are back again this year and have
prepared a new list, some old favorites and some new faces, some who have
been lowered and some who have been put higher on the list.
Lil Wayne ruled the top 10 list in 2007 and appeared on seemingly everyone's
track. This year, he was replaced by the Glow in the Dark headliner Kanye West
who has travelled up the list from #5 to now a chart-topping #1.
BSL has pulled both lists from 2007 and 2008 for comparison.
