(May 23) For the last nine years, popular men's magazine Maxim releases their list
of the most beautiful that is walking this green Earth in their "HOT 100". Some
faces I have noticed are concreted on the list (i.e. Jessica Simpson and Eva
Longoria). And as a woman, I honestly ponder why some made the list, how some
were placed above another and how some individuals were omitted from the list.
How are the Maxim HOT 100 women chosen? Is it just actual attractiveness, the
woman's visibility on the red carpet or is it a combination of both?
Well, I reviewed the list and I could not help but notice the obvious names that were
missing from the list.
Where were leading ladies Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie? They were constant
mainstays on the list from day one but this year were M.F.L (missing from list).
Then I thought maybe it was because they were pregnant and that the selectors
obviously thought "being with child" was not sexy. But wait, Christina Aguilera was
on the list and at #8 at that. And so is Jessica Alba at #34.
Some who graced the HOT 100 list were America Ferrera #84; Christina Milian
#79; Susie Castillo #78; Alicia Keys #77; Gabrielle Union #73; Mariah Carey #71;
Roselyn Sanchez #70; Selita Ebanks #63; Zoe Saldana #42; Ashanti #37; Fergie
#35; The Pussycat Dolls #17; Rihanna #15 and Beyonce #14.
People who, in my opinion should have been included on the list:
Stacey Dash: She showed the world via Playboy and King Magazine that even at
42, she could show up these 20-somethings.
Toccara Jones: The model/BET host has proven time and time again that thick is
beautiful.
Keisha Knight-Pulliam: The former Cosby kid has grown into a beautiful young
woman.
