The original Foxy Brown recognized for
achievements in film
Actress Pam Grier
(May 3) Actress Pam Grier was recently honored with the Master of Cinema Award
at the RiverRun International Film Festival in Winston Salem, North Carolina.

Best known for being the most recognizable leading actress during the
Blaxploitation film period, the Winston-Salem native has appeared in over 40 films
since the 70s. Her most well-known films were
Foxy Brown, Coffy, Sheba, Baby
and the Quentin Tarantino flick,
Jackie Brown.

She can be currently seen as Kit Porter in the Showtime series,
The L Word.
