(February 4) Both Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria- Parker released films this weekend, The
Eye and Over Her Dead Body, respectively. Alba’s The Eye debuted at number two with
$13 million while sadly the Desperate Housewives star did not even make it in the top ten
with Over Her Dead Body making only $4.6 million.
The Eye, a remake of the Hong Kong thriller film, Jian Gui, stars Alba as Sydney Wells, a
blind violinist who is given the opportunity to see for the first time since childhood after
undergoing a corneal transplant and later terrorized by haunting visions.
Longoria-Parker stars Over Her Dead Body, a romantic comedy about a bride who is killed
on her wedding day and her fiancée seeks the advice from a psychic that he eventually falls
for. Although deceased, Longoria’s character seeks revenge on the psychic and attempts
every thing in her power to break the newly formed couple up.
So, who claimed the number one spot? It was none other than the kid-friendly, Hannah
Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour bringing in $29 million.
Longoria-Parker married basketball player, Tony Parker in July 2007.
Alba announced that she was expecting her first child with boyfriend Cash Warren in the late
Spring/early Summer.
