BEST MOMENTS OF
SUPERBOWL XLII
(February 4) Superbowl XLII had its moments. Some were livelier than others. Fans tuned in with
pizza slice in one hand and beer (or soda) in the other as they watched four quarters of intense
gaming pleasure between two extraordinary teams and overpriced commercials.
Here were the highlights of Superbowl 42.
Alicia Keys and Jordin Sparks Live Performances
Not since the unforgettable SuperBowl Halftime show (with the exception of Prince) has the fans
present in attendance and at home been entertained with outstanding live entertainment. The 9-time
Grammy award winner and current chart-topper, Alicia Keys dazzled during the pre-show, performing
a medley of her hit singles. The 18-year old American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, who just released
her debut album under J Records, beautifully sang the National Anthem.
Timberlake Catches A Beatdown
Considering that it was a few years too late because of what happened during the Halftime show we
are not allowed to talk about, Justin Timberlake finally got what was coming to him. The blue-eyed
soul singer survived through getting beat up, beat down and dragged in the Pepsi commercial only
to get knocked over the head at the end. At this point, I guess this is the only retribution we’ll see.
Campbell Has a Thriller Performance
From the looks of for the Sobe Life Water commercial, supermodel Naomi Campbell can do more
with her legs besides walking the runway. Sharing the lights and camera time with computer-
generated lizards blinging with colorful grillz, in perfect unison they put a modern day spin to the
1982 Michael Jackson classic, Thriller dance routine.
LL & Busta Get Recharged After Diet Pepsi Max
Who would have known that a diet carbonated drink could give such a kick? After watching music
greats, Ladies Love Cool James, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott and Macy Gray get very cartoonish
and Night at the Roxbury-ish after taking a sip, I might have to buy a case for myself.
Plaxico Burress Catches Game-Winning Touchdown
Although he wasn’t given the coveted MVP title, New York wide receiver Plaxico Burress should have.
Collecting 27 yards during the game, he caught the winning touchdown and scoring the upset of 17-
14 versus the “we know we gonna win” Patriots.
